Lake Louise

We arrived at Lake Louise village and headed straight out to Lake Louise and the Fairmont Hotel.

This is not us on the bike although Craig wished it was. These are fantastic roads for motorbikes, really wide, with sweeping bends and stunning scenery.

The Fairmont was not where we were staying - at $500 plus per night it was a bit steep for us.

Lake Louise -It clouded over just as we reached the lake so my photos don't really do it justice. The sun came out again as we were walking around the lake and through the grounds of the Fairmont, so I managed to get a few sunny ones.

There is also canoeing on this lake and we were tempted as it was so hot.

This little guy is a Golden-mantled ground squirrel, he was so busy eating his berry he didn't mind me taking his photo.

This Clark's Nutcracker bird was very tame, hopping between tourists seated on the lake front, hoping to share their snacks.

We headed back to the village for dinner and then walked along the Bow River, the same river we canoed in Banff.

View from the restaurant window below. Note the banner, there are lots of these with different animal designs on them placed all around the village.
